Mommy and Me Photography Sessions | Bolivar, Missouri

Their childhood is also your motherhood - both worthy of beautiful documentation. Over my career in the Bolivar, Missouri area, I have had the privilege of photographing so many mothers with their children. From young mothers with their babies, to aging mothers with their grown children and grandchildren. These sweet sessions always leave your heart full - allowing you to slow down and soak in motherhood.

Recently, I was able to photograph one of my favorite mommy and me photography sessions to date. Mommy and me sessions can take place in so many different settings. This specific session was a dream in a creamy white studio. Mama was dressed in one of my client closet dresses, a cream two piece corset dress with little yellow flowers. Her little guy was dressed in the most precious overalls. Together, their soft, high end look lead to the most tender and beautiful moments and resulting images.

So, where do you start when planning or choosing the right mommy and me session to celebrate this season of life?

Motherhood minis are increasing in popularity, and are a great option for those looking for a smaller session and are a great low risk option when you are trying out a new photographer. I offer these around Mother's Day in my own business and they have been an wonderful fit for both new and return clients. The set, date, and time are all pre-determined making it easy on your mind and perfect if you need some simplicity in your life.

Another great option for those looking for a more personalized option is a full session. These sessions are customized to you - the set, date, time, etc. We customize everything, starting with how you want your session to feel. From there we move into outfit choices, location, and time of day - all to achieve that feeling you are wanting to capture.

Now, what do we focus on during your session?

During your session, I will put you into a basic pose and give you prompts to elicit genuine moments and connection between you and your child. Your job, is simply to love on them... which I know you already do wonderfully! If your children are younger, you can hold hands, rub noses, give kisses, make them laugh, snuggle, and so much more. If your children are older, you will tell each other your favorite stories/memories of and with the other, add in jokes, games, and so much more (If you're kids are okay with the more affectionate prompts, we will do those too!)
